Syria’s main source of foreign income is from oil’s exports, estimated at 155,000 bbl/day in 2010. Yet, the country has nearly around $21.55 billion of external debt that is equivalent to 45% of its income. In 2013, Syria's total population was 22.85 million with 57% of the total population is urbanized. In the same year, CO2 emissions was 33.47 Mt representing 2% of total Middle East emissions. Total primary energy supply in 2013 was 12910 thousand tons of oil equivalent (ktoe), with renewable resources only representing 2%. In the same year, Syria had a total installed capacity of 71885 GWh and around 7446 GWh of hydropower.
